Windows Home Server

My latest new tech toy is an HP Mediasmart EX470 Windows Home Server. I’ve had it for about a month or so now, and it really is very impressive. I highly recommend anyone with two or more computers in their household have a Windows Home Server. My primary use for the server at the moment is to keep fully automated, complete backups of the two computers we have in our home, and as a limited-use file server. The backup system alone is worth the price of entry, but there are all kinds of add-ins available that also increase the utility of the device.

There is the rather highly publicized data corruption bug, but that should be solved by June, and in the meantime it is easy to work around the scenarios that cause the issue to occur.
